Sugarbush Racing Club Gathers at Emily’s Bar and Bistro

Late Wednesday afternoon, the Sugarbush Race Club descended on Emily’s Bar and Bistro in Waitsfield.  Emily lived up to her motto of “offering comfort food, fun and fond memory-making!”. Emily is well known to the group from her years of bartending at the Wunderbar at Sugarbush.  While there, she was well-liked for her enormous energy and good humor.  We can report that she has not slowed down. Her Bar and Bistro is a fun and welcoming spot.   While munching on appetizers, SRC members mingled, sharing stories about the weather, ski conditions and what to expect on Friday’s anticipated race. It was great to see many of our new members mixing in with the group.  Everyone enjoyed the 50-50 raffle and the drawing for two $50 gift cards.

We knew the weather forecast was “iffy” and our hopes were dashed by the warm temperatures and pouring rain Friday morning.   We felt betrayed by the mid-afternoon sun and dropping temps! Since SRC has experienced several cancellations due to weather, we have added a race during school vacation week.  Let’s hope the weather gods treat us with good conditions.
